2 of my bridesmaids told me they had shoes...however when they showed up to the fitting last night- 1 said she never had the chance to get them so she wore her black heels and will 'try' to find something with th eexact same heel height (in other words- she'll probably end up wearing the ones she has)
The shoes that the other BM has are black as well (although they are not the strappy patent leather hooker 4.5' heels that the other BM has- they are 2' heel black satin mules)
Yesterday I played it off as if it was no big deal because I hate asking the girls to spend more money- esp. since they are both getting screwed over by the seamstress...( One was supposed to have her alterations done for free by her MIL, but since the dresses only came in 2 days before she was leaving to come here- she now has to pay $45 for them, the other is being charged $35 for a half inch hem- on the front of the dress only!!?!?!)
The dresses are floor length...do you think its going to be horrible for them to wear the black shoes?
I had suggested gold or brown, and absolutely FORBID silver- but I never mentioned black...I just asked that they use their judgement and choose a shoe that matches...
I dunno...I guess I just needed to vent...
I could have them change into their gold flip flops for park pictures....this way when they are walking and holding their dresses up they'll all have the same shoes...
ETA: the dresses are chocolate brown (Sable) forgot to mention that
Why does everyone have to be difficult?!?!

Re: Ugh- BM shoes - a tad long
i think you are right - there is no point in stressing if the dresses are floor length. the dresses are dark brown, so no one will notice, i promise. and i love the idea of gold flip flops for pics, so all the girls match.
take a deeeeeeep breath - you will be ok!!

That stinks!!! Not for nothign my girls gor shoes at payless for $40, that includes the dye. It might seem like you are being bitchy, but you are not! I would email/call the girls and tell them when you saw them in the dresses last night with black shoes, you weren't fond of the way they looked together. If it is within your means you could buy them their shoes too. Hope it works out for you

Re: Ugh- BM shoes - a tad long
I am a big supporter of BMs wearing whatever shoes they would like to wear, especially when the alternative is a shoe they will probably never wear again. But in this case, I think black shoes with brown dresses might look weird if they're too visible. On the other hand, if the dresses are altered so they hit the floor, no one will notice and they'll probably kick them off or change into the gold flip flops during the reception anyway, so I think it's probably fine. Your idea for pictures is great. Don't let it get to you!

My dresses are sable too, I told my girls to get strappy brown shoes. I don't think I'd be ok with black shoes, it shouldn't be too hard for them to find a brown shoe. God, does that make me sound a little bridezilla-ish?

My girls are actually wearing black shoes with their cinnamon dresses. That is the color that David's Bridal showed on the model with that color so I decided to do that. My girls actually all got the same shoe though. I don't think you will see the shoes anyway if the dresses are floor length... but I would have them change into the gold flip flops if you want pictures with them holding their dresses up showing off the shoes. That way you know they all will match plus I think it would look cute with flip flops!!!!

I don't specifically want pictures of our feet...lol..but I know that we will all be holding the dresses up to walk through the park while we are taking pictures. . .I guess it will be fine. . .I don't really have the time or the money to go looking for shoes with the correct heel heights for them this week. . .so I guess I'll have to let it go...bit I don't like it.

actually my BM dresses are espresso brown and had some problems with the color of the shoe ~ my MOH said she was in payless and saw an espresso brown shoe or something on the brown line they could wear... so maybe they can check it out!! most of my BM's (with the exception of my MOH) did not have there shoes for there fitting either... they had shoes with the heal they were looking for! I am not stresssing over it ~ I was in the beginning... but just breathe it will all work out!

Although it stinks- It will only be for a small part of the wedding. I like the idea of getting them some flip flops to change into, then they can wear them the rest of the night. Just say something like 'After the ceremony, why dont you guys put these on, it will look really cute in pictures!

My dresses are dark brown too ... and floor length ... my only request to my girls was that the wear brown shoes and that they be comfortable.
BUT if I were in your shoes () I don't think I'd stress about it. The black will be fine, no one will really see them.
