UGH! Help please

UGH! Help please

*This might be TMI, but I really need your help*

Ok so I went for a facial yesterday in the city (Mario Badescu). After a few masks and cleanings, the facialist just grabs a few tissues and goes at it - she didn't warn me that she was about to do extractions. Normally this isn't a problem but she tried to pop a pimple that wasn't ready to be poped and I didn't have a second to tell her to stop. I guess it bled a little b/c she kept dabbing it. Then she takes some sort of chemical and puts it on that now very sensitive spot (I asked what it was and she didn't know). It burned and I told her. She said it's supposed to help it dry out.

Well now I have a very visible scar in that area. It's red and looks like a burn. I'm wondering if you ladies have some recs about what I can put on it to help it heal without scarring? Anything to make that scar go away faster?

My wedding is 3 weeks away

OMG that sounds like a chemical burn. definitely use something like maderma and you should be ok. that must also be fairly painful!!!

no no no.... don't do anything. Adding more stuff might do more harm than good. If it is a chemical burn, your skin is in a weakened state.
Just wash it with a gentle soap, and try to keep it dry and clean. Avoid moisturizers, make-up and the rest.

However, I don't think you received a chemical burn. There is no blistering or extreme swelling (like after a burn with boiling water), right? Just moderate redness/irritation.... Do you think the redness is from the astringent they put on your face after popping? That burning was likely just a lot of alcohol in an astringent like seabreeze or clinique.... that could leave it pretty red and slightly swollen (similar to the original pimple) the next day. It also will dry out the surrounding skin, possibly to the point of mild skin flaking. But, that will all go away in a couple more days.... no scarring.... just leave it alone, and once the swelling/redness disappeared, moisturize the surrounding skin with something gentle.

I've already put makeup on it - I can't leave the house looking the way I do now :(

I do think it's a chemical burn and I'm sure it'll peel off in a few days. I think my shower and bachelorette are either this weekend or next so I'm really pissed about that. Guess I'll have to photoshop like crazy.

after it peels, it's probably going to leave a scar

vitamin e oil is the best to use. will help things heal quicker w/o scars and will help old scars fade. i swear by this stuff. just rub it on whenever you think about it (esp after a shower).

oh man....!!!!

Dont worry and dont be upset it will be gone by three weeks! I would not put any medicated lotion or cream on it just to be safe. But what i would do at bedtime is put vit. E on it first let it dry and then put neopsorin on it and let it penetrate through out the night. I would do this a few times a day. It should be gone within a week.

Oh Gosh Ev....... I had the similar situation when I had my facial at Bliss It will take a few days to dry out, then just put Tea tree oil on it. It worked wonders on me

Do not worry, with the time you have left for the wedding, it will go away

Oh no. Call them and ask exactly what it was and then ask what you can do to soothe it. To take away the redness try a hydrocortisone cream.

maybe you should see a dermatologist, esp since you don't want a scar for your wedding pics, and covering it up with make-up might make it more noticeable.

I worked in an office where they did a lot of facials and things like that and they might of put something like a salicylic acid on your face which is used for chemical peels. Its prob. gonna peel - BUT DONT PICK IT!!! Most importantly , use a moisturizer!

Thank you girls sooo much!!!

I'm off to get some Vitamin E and Maderma

What kind of Vit. E should I get? Capsules that I can break apart or is there already a premade liquid form?

There is already a liquid form-I have it. It will be in your vitamin section. I used it when I had third degree burns on my face and I do not have any scaring at all-good luck!
