UGH- I am a nag!!! Anyone's Fiance/Husband play video games relentlessly????
I need to vent. My fiance LOVES to play XBox online with his friends. We can be snuggling on the couch, one of his friends will call and before I know it, he's using the TV playing his freaking game with his friends who have nothing better to do. FOR HOURS ON END. It's cutting into our cozy couple time! I feel like such a nag for complaining, but I feel like saying, get a life! I hate it.

DH used to do that to me when I went online. I swear I lose time here We sort of set up 'our cuddling times' and our other times. He goes to bed earlier so I usually wait until he's asleep before I hop on. Maybe working out some sort of schedule will curtail his game playing a bit and give you two time together?

MINE DOES!!!!!! He will play for hours and hours on end. I'm talking 9 pm until 5 am sometimes with no break. He doesn't even realize half the time what time it is or how long he's been playing for. It drives me nuts how much time he wastes playing stupid games! I mean, 2 hours, 3 hours, ok. But 8 hours straight, day after day???!! The boy is sick I tell you .

MY FH plays often, but not ALL the time. He also works in the industry, so I can't escape it! BUT, I also play with him....we have fun together and sometimes we have certain friends that play with us too! It gts addicting!

LOL - don't mean to laugh dietz... but I can totally relate. He was playing his XBOX ALL DAY on Saturday - and it's the online game as well - Ghost Recon.. I'm used to it by now and whenever he goes and plays, I just hop onto LI Weddings.com and talk to all my friends here...

I'm so glad there are others out there just like us! My FH could win a world record for most time spent playing XBox! I usually go to bed earlier than he does and then he plays until 12 or 1 in the morning, and has to get up for work the next day. Sometimes I feel offended that he would rather stay up and play a video game instead of going to bed with me. I guess I shouldn't take it so personally????

No, definitely don't take it personally... same here. I go to bed and he continues on... It's a guy thing.. they love playing those stupid games for some reason! Besides XBOX, he has the PS2 too! ugh..

FI loves Everquest. i hate that freakin' game and am ready to toss his computer out the window. we have battled about this a few times, most recently when dinner burned because he couldn't 'step away' from the game at a critical time. we have learned to compromise - he knows that with the wedding so close, that those responsiblities come first. he goes to bed hours after i do, so i have no problem with him playing while i'm sleeping or if i'm working on a craft. it's all a matter of give and take, but i know where you're coming from!!!!

Dietz I feel the same way. I feel like he would rather spend time playing stupid video games than snuggling in bed with me But last week he made it up to me by surprising me with flowers and taking me to dinner. That helped a little. I bought him a couple of games for his birthday (that should be coming in the mail any day now) and they're 2 player games so we can at least play together. He gets mad at me though whenever we play together because I always forget which button does what so I just hit all of them

A big LOL!! yes, my FI plays alot and his BM comes over an plays with him. Actually, this past Friday night him and BM played from 7 PM to 1 AM.
It really didn't and doesn't bother because he has been working so hard at work and on our house (he just finished the tile that night, I LOVE IT!!!) and he needs an outlet that is fun for him.
And when he is playing PS2 I am gladly go on liweddings!

lol...my dfh loves hisvideo games too - but we each have things we like- he can easily lose time playing them...but i feel bad b/c he rarely has time to play them so when he does we kinda set a time period ahead of time so that i can remind him(hey, its been an hr, etc!!)

I like the advice of setting up a schedule and keeping open communication regarding this is very important!!!
I have a friend of mine that has been going to marriage counseling over this issue, but to an extreme. Her DH is addicted to computer games and online gaming, plus he works in the video game industry so he really feels it is justified.
They even stopped sharing a bedroom since he would wake her up at all hours when he'd finally come to bed.
Just make sure this does not happen to you!

hrmmm Im the 'player' He's online with his Sony Clie stuff when Im not on LIweddings. He knows how I am about my gaming.
We try to find games we can play together or stuff that one has to help the other 'figure' out stuff in. We also are complete and total arcade addicts. Until the engagment we'd go upstate a bit and rent a hotel room to 'get away' from the world and spend most of the time in an arcade.
Between the PS2 & Computer, we game alot. But it's ok cause we laugh at ourselves when we play and it becomes our 'couple' time.

I'm always telling my FH he has issues because much like your men he too spends ALOT of time playing PS2. We even try to to a date night once a week but lately work has been stressful (for both). I really look forward to date night but when things are bad he likes to unwind w/ the PS2 while I wait around for date night to start...which does not happen since it is after the game 2hrs later. I'm already in bed w/ my book. It makes me feel old that I'm in bed by myself at 9pm.

Thankfully no. FH can't even click a mouse right.
But he is a couch potato and watches TV from when he comes home until he goes to bed. Hello...ever hear of a BOOK? LOL
