So I got on the computer right at 9am, as did my brother and within 2 minutes all the tickets for U2 were SOLD OUT
How does that happen!

Same thing happened to me when I got on to Ticketmaster at 9:04. I really should've signed up for that U2 fan club thing though because they were able to buy tickets early last week during the prerelease.
As it is, I'm now on Ticketmaster trying to buy overpriced tickets for the show at Giants Stadium. I didn't realize that if you live in NY and the show is in NY you can't pay more than the face value of the ticket on ebay! That leaves out MSG obviously.

My brother was part of that presale thing but couldn't get tix than either....sold out in minutes too.
Hopefully they will add a second show!

i had a similar experience with wrestlemania last year at MSG
they tell you that tix go on sale at a certain date and time, but then they usually have some sort of presale for preferred members, so that by the time the tix go on sale for the general public, 95% of the tix are gone.
in my case, the presale was for american express card holders. My cousin, an amex card holder, got the notification and forwarded me the password so i could get my tix on the presale

I get so aggravated with that whole scene..It should go back old school, where you stand in line and take your chances. I hate paying for pre sale membership, then a lot of the time it is sold out in presale. I have gotten pretty lucky using ebay though, and waiting till the last minute. twice DH and I went to box office the night of concert, and extra seats were added, I guess when the stage is set up, more room becomes available

I almost bought 2 tickets on ebay for the show in NJ but my colleague convinced me that the prices will have to go down. I really almost paid $700 for 2 tickets. U2 is my favorite band and I've never gone to one of their concerts. I was ready to pay $200 a ticket but $350 is a little ridiculous.

Yeah, that's the problem. The presale and the fact that they also give tickets to various radio stations to give away as prizes.
