does anyone know what I can do for it. When I turn my head to the right I get a shooting pain down my neck/upper back

omg i have gotten that 3 times in the past year. it is soooo painful!!
i was away on business once when i got it, and i bought those stick-on heating pads from CVS. that seemed to work pretty well, along w tylenol xtra strength.
if it's really bad and you can go to the doctor for a cortozone shot, that will really help, but you probably shouldn't work after you get it b/c it's pretty painful just from having the shot for a little while after.

Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel your pain., if you are going to try heat.... instead of just heat..try heat and ice....a combinaition of both.
Tylenol Extra Strenght ROX...I take it all the time..
I've gotten 3 cortizone shots...it works wonders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its an istant miracle. I recommend them 100%%%%%. ETA: I got a cortizone shot and went right to work no problem.

ugh that stinks, i had that once, and whenever i do a repetitive motion, the pain comes back full force. A medicine called Flexeril seems to help

heat!! loosen it up and then move your head gently around and rub it. the doc told me no cold on it when i used to get it! Heat will loosen it up then just try to massage it a bit

OMG that hurts really bad, I used to get those all the time, rub the area will alcohol or get a message, hopefully that will help it

I've been rubbing it for like an hour now on and off...still hurts like crazy. I wish I could go get the shots of cortizone but I don't have insurance right now I'm gonig to try those heating pads from CVS on my way home. Hopefully they'll work...

Take a hot shower and put a heating pad on it afterwards and just relax. And take some tylenol or advil.

and don't do anything that will make it worse..like working out or lifting heavy stuff. and if the heat pack don't work put ice on it.

I wish I could do that but I have mandatory dance classes starting tonight until saturday I can't even sit out

Hey Mel-how is everything?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! awww. . .sorry about your neck. Def. try to put a heating pad on it. . .they sell little wrap around ones that go in the microwave~especially for the neck
