FH just told me he might like golf clubs for his bday gift at the end of the month. How on earth am I gonna afford that, PLUS throw him some type of party AND give him a nice wedding gift.

The wedding gift is taken care of isn't it???
Maybe get him 2 golf clubs and a bag for his 30th then for Christmas get him another few... break it up over the next 6 months to a year and by next summer he should have a nice set. I am sure he will understand

haha my FH requested the same thing for his bday only his bday is 1 week after the wedding...i wondering the same thing! How am I going to swing this lol ohhh men!

psh.. No cuz I can't keep my mouth shut and he already knows about that lol. I was thinking about getting him a Movado. That's not a bad idea though about getting him 2 clubs and the bag.

Check out eBay. I found some great deals on clubs for FI in the past. I actually saw some nice bags at TJ Maxx last week too!

Yeah, that's a lot right before the wedding especially! My BFF's bf asked for the same thing for his birthday and she bought a couple of clubs and the bag and he was really happy. For every occasion, she usually adds a club or 2. I am sure no matter how many you get him, and the party, he will be more than grateful!

dont feel bad. just because he said he wants something doesnt mean he expects it for his bday.
i told dh a bunch of shiiit i wanted for my bday last year. he didnt get me any of it. money had to go to our wedding and home. i knew that. didnt hurt my feelings one bit.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Part of it IS my fault cuz I asked him a few months back what he wanted for a 30th bday gift assuming that he'd pick a watch. He wouldn't get it for his bday but would get it for the wedding..
