so i had to start calling today as a telephone standby juror. and have to go on monday 830am.
am i allowed to bring my cell phone in or no? also is business casual attire ok?
ETA: although i thought school wasnt an accepted excuse anymore but my old coworker just told me it is.

I just had to go last week...it stunk! Good news is that once you do it, you are done for 6 yrs! You can't bring your phone in if it is a camera phone! Bring plenty of stuff to do! I brought suduko books and boks to read! They do give you an hour and a half lunch and you can go shopping at the outlets! Business casual is fine! I wore black pants and a nice shirt...there were some guys wearing dirty khakis pants and t-shirts!! Good luck!

thatd be nice if there was shopping outlet mall near this courthouse but unfortunately there isnt. great so i guess i have to leave my phone at home then ugh.

so sorry for you! my dad did this about 3 months ago and narrowly escaped being put on a real jury...and got stamped out for the 6 years or whatever...and then 6 weeks later, was called again! he had to take another day off and go down and prove he'd already done his part!
