ugh kinda tough sitch, need advice

I was on the phone w/ a few vendors this morning, and one called me back and I could tell from the initial phone call that I am NOT interested in this person's services.

This person is going to call me back to say if the time I had selected for an appointment will work or not. I don't want to waste the time going there.

Should I just not answer the phone? What should I do?

Should I go w/ the old 'e-mail and say that we just found out someone in the family' can do this service?

What do you think?

ETA: If she calls me back today, I think it would be way too awkward to say I 'found someone else' since I obviously didn't in that short amount of time.

I think it's tot fine to be honest and tell them you are not interested. Think about the fact that if they leave you a voicemail you are bound to get a follow up phone call. I have learned that unless I address things with vendor they do hunt ya down! :) good luck

If the person was nasty (and that's why you don't want to use their services), then eff 'em and ignore them. That's what they get for being rude.

BUT if you just didn't 'click' with them, then I'd give the courtesy of a quick e-mail with your fib about finding someone in the family. It'll only take two minutes of your time

I would deal with it now and answer the phone. You can tell her-thanks, but I am going with someone else. They must hear these things every day, so don't feel bad.

Either tell her up front or tell her that you need to reschedule the appointment at a later time... and then never do lol.

i would be honest ...maybe just apologize...saying thank you for their time but at this moment your not ready to decide on ---(whatever their service is) and will call back if interested....
