Ugh, Liberty Bell Stamps

Ugh, Liberty Bell Stamps

Debi went to the PO, to get stamps for the RSVP's.
I reminded her we're at the in between stage of changing postage, and suggested she get the Forever Liberty Bell stamps, if available, because if a guest doesn't RSVP, before the change, the purple hearts won't pass muster with the PO. Sooooo, ugly stamps If a lady was in charge at the PO, I'm sure she would have issued heart 'forever'stamps, instead of Liberty Bells, for all the upcoming weddings!!!! Mary MOB

PS Deb and Fred are going to pick up their e-pics tonight, and one will be going into the newspaper really, really soon!!!!!! I've been waiting for this day since 2006, when they got engaged!!

Mary,
I just learned what these stamps are and apparently there is only the flag and the purple heart, but to your mind at ease, the purple heart is not pretty...it is for veterans, like a purple heart badge and has george washington on it...i think the flags are actually better

Forever stamps mean that you can buy them now for 41 cents and use them after the price increases. You can buy as many as you want and they can be used no matter how much stamps go up...but only if you buy the forever ones....

Hi, everyone!!! Debi bought the Liberty Bell Forever Stamps, for the RSVP envelopes. She asked about other choices, but alas there were none. I reiterate,' If I was in charge, the Forever stamps would be pretty!!!!!' Who wants to nominate me to Stamp Production Supervisor at the Post Office??? Mary MOB

As Shirley Temple use to say, 'But definitely!!!!!' I'm not sure about Long Island papers, but probably the Lancaster Sunday News, and the Penney Saver, another local paper. Mary MOB

i was mad about the stamps also. they should have the 58 cent stamps in diffrent colors other than pink. i got the purple 41 cent stamps and i put 2 of them on the front of the invitaion and i put one 41cent stamps with a lamp stamp for an extra 1 cent to make 42 cents.

Hi, Bettie!!!!! Amen!! In fact, why cant't the PO make a whole bunch of pretty stamps??? What's so hard?? I would have loved to have been able to buy seashell /seastar stamps!! How about palm trees?? How about two hearts drawn in the sand?? Ya know those pink hearts are ok for some colors of envelopes, but on Debi's orange Shower envelopes, not so much a pretty thing! Mary MOB

Re: Ugh, Liberty Bell Stamps

the funny thing is, i actually think the skeletal-looking love hearts are much uglier than the liberty bell

i wanted to use the flower ones or the swamp/water lily one, but ended up with the liberty bell forever stamps and the $1 stamps.

i was going to use a flower and a rams head if my invites came out to 58c just to avoid the heart ones.

i wish they had more options! like more than 1 58c and an actual 97c and lots of prettier stamps!

oh well...

I hear ya..I bought these Forever stamps the other day for my RSVP's. I'm sending my invites out the last week of April and have an RSVP of 5/31. I know if people wait until the last minute that they'd get their RSVP back and I would never see it!
