UGH, Macy's frustration

UGH, Macy's frustration

Seriously, I think FH and I are just going tot take our registry to BBB (which is what I said to begin with but does bigass listen? NO)

We registered for Noritake CHina that comes 8 place settings plus some extras in a box set. We chose 2 boxes because 8 settings isn't enough. I had reservations about that because that means people can't spend a little bit on 1 or 2 place settings... but the set was marked $299 for 40 pieces so I said OK. He really liked the pattern and for the price, I liekd it too. It wasn't my first choice, but it was nice.

Overnight, the price DOUBLED. there was no signage to indicate the china was on sale... it was just marked $299. now it's $600 a box. In THAT case, I could have chosen a Mikasa pattern that I really like and spend almost the same amount of money and people couldbuy the piecemeal!

It's frustrating because FH and I were in Macy's alllll afternoon and now we still have this up in the air. I don't like choosing this stuff online, cause I never get a real feel for what it looks like so now I need to go back and reevaluate what to do with the china.

PLUS, BBB has this same pattern for $50 a place setting. AND they have our cookware less expensive. UGH! I feel like we have to do everything over again and we wasted a whole day in Macy's!

BBB will transfer your registry over from Macys, thats what they did for DH and I . We registered first at Macys, then went to BBB, saw it was cheaper, and they put it all on the registry for us.

Why not register at both places? I am sure the china will go on sale again at macys

Because most of the stuff we want at BBB is the same and we have a 2nd registry at Target, so I didn't want to do 3 places

I hated registering at Macys. We registered at the onei n Manhasset and it was more crazy and stressful than BBB which was 2 floors.
Macys was very unorganized and the prices weren't listed on a lot of items and it stressed me out like crazy.

I ended up deleting my registery there and added everything to BBB.

This was EXACTLY our experience too!!! Maybe it's bc of the Manhassett location? The missing price things made things so difficult... I accidentally registered for a $100 roasting pan. Totally not necessary.

I deleted my Macy's registry... I was not happy with it at all and I have heard soooo many people complain that they give you a hard tie with returns too

just so you know,

after stalking my registry for weeks, the prices do fluctuate daily / weekly .

idk why, but it could be annoying. nevertheless, i stayed with macys, bt do what makes you happy

FH and I decided to just register at BBB. We started our registry at Macy's, but when we walked around the store we got very discouraged and didn't enjoy the process at all. We went to BBB and had such a better experience so we are just getting everything there.
