Please someone tell me if I am wrong. We had booked a photographer in April and I've been trying to meet with him since July. The first time he canceled when we were on the Southern State to go meet an hour before our appointment. Ok things happen. This time he calls an hour before we are supposed to meet to cancel or push back almost 3 hours. I've explained to him before that I come from out of state and my time is limited. I even called Tues. to confirm. I am being stubborn by wanting to just get my deposit back and go with someone else????

Nope, you shouldnt have to deal with that especially being out of state. I dont blame you for wanting to go with someone else. My photographer has been awesome to work with so far, I can send you his info if youd like

I would be somewhat annoyed especially only giving you a few hrs notice... What was his reason this time?

I hope he had a really good excuse for not meeting with you. I would really have a hard time dealing with this. I mean it's september already and he still hasn't contacted you? you should be able to rely on your vendors.

The first time he canceled was during the mega heatwave early in July and something with his electric happened. So I'm like ok no biggie I'll be back down in Sept. I called him 2-3 weeks ago and I'm like I will be in NY the 21st, 22nd, 23rd. So we set up for 22nd. It was I'll be in Jersey but I can meet you in Brooklyn and I had no issue with that. He calls me last Wed. and is like I'm by the Verrazano, where in Bklyn do you want to meet. I'm like ummmm it's next week. Then Tues. I call and confirm for 6:30 Wed. No problem he should be at the office. Wed. at 5:24 (I'm already on the belt mind you,) calls me and wants to push it back to 8:30/9pm or cancel. I'm like I'm already on my way there and he had the nerve to ask me why I left so early. So I call the owner dude and I'm like listen this is the 2nd time within 3 months that he had canceled an appt. Back and forth convo blah blah blah how can we make it right and I'm like you can't, what am I supposed to do on my wedding day if he gets stuck at work, push my wedding back 2 hours. I've explained over and over I am on limited time when I come to NY. oy

NO I think that's exactly what you shoud do! You don't need to keep going through this especially the day of your wedding or when you want to pick up your proofs, albums etc.

I would def tell them you dont want to use them.. DEMAND your deposit back and tell them all the time and money you lost raveling for him to cancel last minute!! You want someone that is reliable espec on your wedding day!!!!!!!!!!

uhhh this is what is soooo scary of picking vendors!! what a gamble wedding stuff is =( so stressfull!!

I let FH deal with them today, I didn't want to be bothered. We had our DJ booked with them also and I'm canceling that too. So he's all like I dunno about the deposit I have to talk to the DJ because he already set that date aside. I flipped when FH got off the phone cause I'm all like it is still over a year away don't give me any it's too close BS. I'm gonna wait to Monday after he speaks to the DJ. Whatever's.
