FMIL's are tough. FH had to *politely* explain to her that this is OUR wedding, we are paying for it, we're going to do it our way. Since, she's backed fof BIG time. Here's hoping yours does the same!

I'm really sorry to hear that. My FMIL def has her 'moments' so I think I know where you are coming from. FH & I have decided that once we move out (we rent the apt upstairs) and have our own home, we are going to draw the lines on appropriate behavior. Now it seems as though you guys dont live w/her. Is there any chance of having a sit down w/her and being completely open to how you feel? I know its def not an easy convo to have but sometimes very necessary. My friend had that convo w/her MIL a few years back and she said it was tough and stressful BUT their relationship totally improved after that and are super close now. HTH!!!

I don't even want to think about how FMIL will be about the wedding. I have been with FH solid for 7 years now, and she does not even seem accepting about an engagement.
