i guess its not too late to change it, but i feel bad since my mom got me a casserole dish in the pattern for xmas.
and the pattern i LOVE FH doesn't!!! and i can't find any others i love.
anyone else have this problem?

we chose not to use anything until we are in our own house....but FH picked our dishes (we only did casual) cuz I was more easy going on it and he tends to be pickier than me.....but is it China China.....maybe you can register for a set of Pfaltzgraff everyday dishes

i want the Pistoulet i saw one on the mikasa site, but it doesn't look like fortunoffs has it (blue horizon) .... maybe in the store.

I couldn't pick one..and it got so bad that I actually returned the one I did pick, bought a set from the Mikasa outlet, wound up hating that one too....and finally wound up taking a set that my sister got as a gift and didn't want. That one I loved and kept!
My best advice when you can't decide on a pattern is GO WHITE. You can do whatever you want with it, add color, patterns, or take it away. It's easy, elegant...and you can't go wrong ever!

Great advice Misty. That's what we did - our casual china is all white - no patterns. You can always add accent pieces to white china to switch things up a bit.

I love playing with my white set. I also found that I usually liked placemat patterns better than everyday china patterns. It's much cheaper to change and makes a better impact on a table!

yeah, i can see me getting tired of ANY pattern very easily. I like to constantly change things. i like the accent idea too... ive seen many cute white bowls or bread plates (etc) with cute designs or pictures on them.

Exactly! You can totally play around with placemats and tableclothes - even glasses - a lot easier - and like you said, it's cheaper than switching your china pattern every year!
Oprah said it years ago - you can never go wrong with simple white china.

You can gold bold too. Add ruby red chargers or some nice cobalt bowls. Or green glasses. Crate and Barrel has some beautiful accent plates right now.
great, now i have to add another place to register at. LOL I'm lovin what they have there!!!! i think i want to get rid of target anyway.... just not sure if the shower invites went out already.... i'll ask the hostesses.
