ughh..

i went wedding dress shopping on saturday. what a nightmare =\

i went to the bridal suite of centereach. it is about an hour away from my apartment. the only reason i went there was b/c they were having an enzoani trunk show and i wanted to try on one of the dresses i love for my FMIL. when i called them last week, i told the woman the specific dress i was coming to see. she assured me that they had it. well, when i got there, they didn't have it. after trying on a few terrible dresses, i left.

then i went to priscilla of boston to try on the other dress i love. well, when i got there, they didn't have it as they sent it out to the today show. ughh, so frustrating.

finally, i went to the wedding salon of manhasset. well, my consultant was beyond rude. she asked me what my budget was. i told her what i wanted to spend, which is not cheap, but i said that if there was something i really loved, i'm willing to spend more. well, according to her, she thought my budget was too low and she made it known. while i was picking out dresses, she went to help another bride who already had a consultant and didn't come back to help me for at least 20 minutes. my FMIL was pissed. the manager came over and asked me where my consultant was b/c i was sitting in the front of the store, so i told her. she didn't seem too happy about that. then my FMIL started telling the manager how rude my consultant was and how we didn't want to work with her anymore. either way, my consultant comes back and i start showing her dresses i wanted to try on. she wouldn't let me try on any of the dresses i wanted b/c of the price. i was so mad b/c i specifically told her that i was willing to spend more if i loved the dress on me. she pulled some terrible dresses for me to try. out of about 5 dresses, i liked one. it was in my budget, but very plain. after she added a belt and brooch, the dress was well over what i said i wanted to spend. i was so annoyed. if she had just let me try on the dresses i loved that had everything i wanted on them, i wouldn't need to pay all this extra money to make it what i wanted. needless to say, i didn't buy my dress there and i will not be going back there anytime soon.

and the dress hunt continues...

Im so sorry about all of that! What JERKS!!!!!!! There are a lot of other bridal shops that I know of with GREAT costumer service!! Where do you live?
I'll give you some names of stores! and those other stores DONT deserve your business!

ugg im sorry you didnt have such a great experience but dont let that get the best of you....

Ahh i can't believe that! I think it may have helped my cause that I was one of the first appointments that day so the salon wasn't too crowded yet, and I also had my mom, FMIL and MOH with me (who are all quite loud) who sort of took over the show. Here is the link to my dress: My Dress

I would have to agree with you that there were alot of dresses at the Wedding Salon that were way out of my price range, but this one was part of a trunk show which put it only a little over my budget once the 15% discount was added.

awww I'm so sorry that you didn't have a good experience!


I looooved Wedding Salon of Manhasset, Noreen was my consultant and she was amazing

never made me feel rushed, was super attentive, let me try on anything I wanted. I tried on soooo many dresses at least 10

Def try again there and ask for Noreen, she is the sweetest thing ever!

Also Village Bridal in Babylon was good too!
