Ughhh...drunk driver caused my parents to get into an accident

My parents and my younger brothers and sistes went into the city to my dad's office. His office was hosting a 4th of July party and it is right on the water so they had great views of the city fireworks.

Well my parents were driving home just about an hour ago..and some drunk driver decided to stop short on the middle of the Belt Parkway (right near JFK airport) and caused a 3 car accident.

The car in front of my parents had to stop short cause the drunk driver stopped short and then my dad couldn't swirve because of a car in the lane next to him and ended up hitting the car in front of him and then the car in back of my dad hit him. Now my parents and my brother and sisters are sitting in hte car waiting for the tow truck and the drunk driver tried to drive away thankfully the cops got their quick enough.

And I just got dropped off from ym friend and I was drinking and I am responsible and didn't drive. But now I need to call my aunt to go pick them up and I had to wake my aunt up at midnight to help me go get them....so I am just waiting for my aunt to come pick me up to go....

UGHHHH people need to learn to be smart and not f&*%ing stupid....this person could have caused someone to die or get severly hurt....

I'm glad everything is ok, but I hope the DD will have to pay for any damage to your parents car!

Thank GOd everyone is ok!!!!! Why in the world do people think it's ok to drink and drive?!?!?!?!?!

drunk drivers are ridiculous.

i know i never understood why people thought it was ok to drive while drunk...and now i feel bad because i mean i am not drunk at all but i dont mess aorund with drinking and driving and i had to call my aunt to come with me

but thankfully everyone is okay yes. but unfortunately it was 3 cars that have damage now...i hope the DD has to pay for the damages...

but my aunt is here and i have to go with her now....

OMG so sorry this happened to your family but thank god they're all ok and nothing bad happened to them.

Even when Fh drove me home before this guy just goes into the next lane not paying attention theres a car right there, luckily that guy was able to fly into the next lane, i told Fh if ppl try cutting him off to let it go this time and stay away from them so many ppl all day at bbq's, parties just drinking and then driving home, its horrible

Again glad they're all ok

drunk drivers suck...its so scary

Thank God they are Ok. People on the roads drive bad enough sober, let alone drunk. I hope they arrested the idiot DD!!!!

Im glad that your family is OK. People scare me sometimes when they think its OK to drive, even after just a few. Hopefully the drunk moron gets his license suspended

thank god everyone is ok!!! the 4th is one of the most dangerous nights of the yr when driving... i dont know why people insist on taking such a chance not only with their own lives but the health and safety of others. this kind of stuff really gets under my skin. its always the sober and responsible people who get hurt while the drunken driver gets off without a scratch!

just got back from picking up my mom and sisters and brother...unfortunately it would have taken another hour to get the towing company to come to the accident site and my dad didnt feel like standing there in the rain...so he is driving down merrick road at 20 miles an hour with his flashers on...but the car def needs alot of work on it

but thankfully everyone is ok...thanks for all your caring and support....i feel bad though my sister flung so foward that her knee hit the dashboard- she was sitting in hte front so my younger brother could watch a movie with my mom lol but her knee is all swollen now and she will have to go to the doctor tomorrow morning...

but i believe the cops alreayd took the guy who caused the accident into custody cause he wasnt there when i arrived and my dad said he saw the cop leave he thinks with hte guy- THANKFULLY cause he does deserve to be in jail....

I am very happy your whole family is ok

Just a few days ago there was an article on aol, about the most deadliest days to be on the road

July 4 was the most dangerous and deadly days to be on the road, at first me and FH were going to leave Atlantic City on 4th of July but after i showed him that article, we agreed it would not be safe to be on the road late last nite. so we stayed an extra nite and will leave later this afternoon.
