I have my checking account, a credit card and an IRA with them........what is going to happen.......

most likely will be the same as the JPM take over of Wamu....everything will be the same, you can go to the same branches, your cards will work etc...eventually they will most likely rebrand the branches as citibank branches...
again...most likely what will happen, don't worry

Ditto pp. Unless you work for them, it's not going to really matter much. You'll need new checks sometime in the next year. That's about it.

I work for Citi...I'm wondering what will happen on our front...hopefully the waters aren't stirred too much
Your accounts will be fine BTW...just a name change...so the most you'll need new checks.

Problem is I never liked citigroup/bank at all. I think after the wedding when I change my name, i am going to move everything to Bank of America.

my dad works for Citigroup/Citibank as well in the Long Island City building. Which one do you work in?!?!
but yeah my dad is working ALOT and like alot of meetings and everything because of this change. I know he already had to let go like 30 people or something in his dept or several different depts it's sad. So I wonder how this change is going to effect them as well.
But I'll ask my dad about this because I know he is dealing with it alot right now at work. but i think you will just need to get new checks sometime in the future.

nothing is going to happen to you or your money. You'll get checks and new cc that say Citi on them instead of Wachovia. I bank with Wachovia also, it doesn't even make me flinch. I was needing a new card anyway cause my magnetic strip is starting to get shoddy.

Yeah, I understand that, I just dont like citibank. I have never liked them...I have been with Wachovia since they were First Union in 1998. I think it is time to switch...I dont want to do business with citibank/citigroup. bye bye wachovia...you will be missed!

lol, that's too funny....I've been with them since they were First Union also, I guess that's why I'm not worried about my money or anything because nothing happened to the money in my FU account when Wach. bought them. I'm sad too cause I really do like Wachovia and I did have a Citi CC years ago and closed the card because I didn't like them....I'm going to stick it out for awhile and see how they are. I'm not going to rush and do anything yet though, if at all.

Catie...I'm in the LIC building also.
I'm a contractor and work on the cards business...so not sure how much it will affect this area of the business.
