Ugliest thing you have ever seen!!!! I can't believe it. We went to visit them friday night and I told her I heard she got her dress and I wanted to see it. It is by far the ugliest dress in the world!! I looked for like 2 hours online in search of picture of it, but couldn't find one, so I will try to describe it. It is lilac/florescent purple with purple sequin all throughout. Then there are two green stalk like sequin thick lines going up and down the body of the dress and towards the top there is yellow sequin in the shape of flower petals, so she has two big sequin flowers on her dress. Then the bottom of her dress looks like a purple feather duster. It is so embarrassing and the best is my one fsil was with her when she got it and actually sort of likes the dress. My fsil is so embarrassed. And my fh and his brother can't stop thinking about how ugly it is. It is just hideous!! I really hope someone talks to her and tells her to get a new dress. I think all the attention will be on her now instead of me because people will not be able to stop talking about it. I so wish I had a picture to show.
****UPDATE***** 1st thing 1st: I got pics of the dress for your enjoyment. 2nd: Thank God!! FMIL returned her dress and got a new one. It is definitely 1000 times better than the first one but still something I wouldn't choose. Enjoy the pics. The last pic is of the new dress
i'm sorry but i can't help but laugh at that description. that sounds hideous!!!!!
i hope she between now and then she will find something else! i think you need to enlist the help of members of your FH's family to persuade her that the dress is not appropriate!

I have to laugh cause the dress sounds the opposite of a peacock. Sorry, I do believe your right in that it's hideous. I don't even need to see a picture. I can vision it, and I am totally with you on this one.

I know it is so freaking ugly that it is quite humerous!!!
I talked to FSIL (the one that thinks it is absolutely disgusting) and she said that she thinks she convinced her mom to look for another dress, but trust me that doesn't mean she will get one!!!

wow that sounds bad. My fmil asked me to come see 2 dresses and pick one for her. One was a beautiful lilac flowing dress and looked great on her. The other was a metalic shiny purple thing. I just could.t deal with the color. Hopefully Your fmil's children will be able to talk her into a new dress. good luck

As for the spotlight being on her the day of your wedding, and not you, i wouldnt worry! Everyone will want to look at the beautiful bride, not the hideous MIL!

When my mother got married she told me that her grandmother told her she was going to wear a red plaid dress to her April wedding. My poor mother went to the florist in tears. Of course my grandmother was JOKING!! She showed up in a beautiful dress that day.
Maybe they are joking with you. (wishful thinking). Maybe you can tell her that you saw a snag in the material and you want to have it fixed. Take it outside and burn it.....I meen take it to the store and return it. Explain to her that they gave you such a hard time and offered this dress in return. I wish you luck!!!

I knew you girls would enjoy this. So in the future ladies if I have to complain about my FMIL I want you to all keep in mind the first dress she picked out because if you think the dress is crazy and ridiculous, it is honestly a reflection of her personality!!! AHHHH.
