So, I sent FH to get the invite weighed yesterday and buy the stamps. Our local PO told him 61 cents for the invite. So today I go to mail them at work and I decided to make sure the postage was correct...so they tell me that 61 cents will cover the weight but because they have a ribbon, the width will be a surcharge of 20 cents. So I had to put two ugly green clock stamps on my invites along with the pretty cake 61 cent cake stamp!!
At this point, I am running late getting these out, so I just did it...I am so pissed.

This happened to me too!!!!! They gave FH two ugly Ram stamps to put on each of our invites...right next to the pretty wedding cake stamp!

I am so freaking stressed right now with wedding and person family bs that I just couldnt deal right now. I was just more concerned with them getting sent back by the PO

I hear you! I stressed the stamps for like a few hours. Nobody said anything to me about them. It just ****** to spend so much time making the invites look pretty...only to put ram stamps on them. blah!
At least your invites are out and will be delivered! Yay!

LOL....my MOH is very outspoken...I have a feeling she is going to say to me, 'why did you put those ugly clock stamps on your pretty invite' and then, I am going to lose it!!
She doesnt mean anything badly with stuff that she says, she just speaks her mind..with everyone!

the EXACT thing happened to me so i just ended up buying the more expensive pretty rings and overpaying for postage
HATE THE USPS
also half of our invitations arrived chewed up and spit out despite the fact they were 'hand canceled' and 'non-machinable' whatever lies that means

Mine were 81 cents too. I just put a king and queen of heart stamp on each one. I figured the post office could use my extra money,

That sucks, but don't worry about it too much. I'm sure your guests will be more interested in your pretty invitations then the stamps!

Don't worry about it...People throw out the envelopes and it isn't worth the stress..I haven't done mine yet, but if I get weird animals, sports figures, flags etc instead of the cute ones, I will not sweat it.. If you ask me what stamp was on the last invite I got I don't remember. I am sure the invitation is beautiful.
