Hi Ladies! So, I my 2 front teeth are noticeably more yellow than the rest of my mouth - I had them bonded when I was 13 and they're due to be fixed. Crest Whitestrips don't work on them - they just brighten the rest of my mouth and make them look even yellower. I don't have the $ to give them the treatment they deserve right now, and I can't see spending $$$ on a quick fix just for one day. My question is, can the photog digitally touch up my teeth in close-up shots? Has anyone ever asked the photog to do that? Otherwise, I'll be smiling with my lips closed...
Thanks!

Re: ugly teeth
where theres a will theres a way. I am sure your photographer can make a little magic and adjust the color. Call them up and find out-it cant hurt to ask.

Re: ugly teeth
I would have to say yes the photog to whiten those teeth...but why don't you call them and just ask. What if you put the white strip on your front teeth only....I am sure the strip whitened everything but because your other teeth were not as yellow as your two front teeth they just got whiter

Re: ugly teeth
When I was 16 I lost a small piece of my tooth and also got it bonded. Over the years the same thing happened as I get my teeth whitened regularly the bonded piece stood yellow. I am having the filling fixed 1 month before the wedding and while my insurance does not cover this (it is considered cosmetic surgery) it does not cost as much as you might think. You will not need a new bonding just to have the gel or whatever your dentist used to be replaced. As long as your bonding is still intact it should be simple to get fixed. i am waiting till a month before the wedding just so that my teeth can be extra white..lol...
FYI teeth whitening will not whiten any dental bonding so even placing the strips or bleaching them through a dentist will not work. This was told to me by my dentist and if you read the back of the box it will say it. HTH
You can FM and I can give you my dentist info you'd like

As a dentist myself - ITA. There is no way to whiten any type of dental work - which is why we always encourage patient to bleach before doing crowns or any other anterior work.
I also agree that it is possible to just replace a portion of the work with a lighter shade. However, it sounds as though you might have had a veneer like filling done with a 'bonding material' on your front teeth - which was very common awhile back, but it may make replacing a 'piece' impossible for a long list of reasons.
FYI - My photog did an AMAZING job whitening my teeth for our engagement pics, and I'm told this is pretty easy/common for all now.
HTH!

Re: ugly teeth
i work with a dentist and he always says if you have a crown or a composit bonding it wont get lighter just your teeth...so i wouldnt waste my money on the strips just call your photog and see what he can do

Re: ugly teeth
WOW! Thanks, ladies! This is helpful info - I don't have just a piece of a tooth bonded, it IS almost like a veneer - so I think I'll leave it up to the photog!

Re: ugly teeth
my single biggest regret was not getting my teeth white....they looked much more yellow than I thought...and the retouching looked fake
