Uh oh...

Uh oh...

FH and I tried to plan a date for our e-party for a while after we got engaged, but we wanted to have it at our new house...then it might be too hot for the summer...then my parents had all of Sept booked...then Oct might be too cold.........

You get the point. We decided on Oct 3 and sent out invitations.

FH found out the other day that it's the same day as his cousin's wedding ( ) and his family is pissed that we would have something the same day. In our defense -- the cousin sent an invitation (we think anyway) to the apartment FH no longer lives in and hasn't lived in for a while. His parents never said anything to him about it and in general no one asked why we didn't RSVP or even mention that the wedding was that day.

How do I make this better? I don't want them to hate us! It's not like we were going to go to the wedding anyway. It's far away and FH doesn't get along with his family too well......

This is a tough one.... Can you reschedule it?? I understand where you're coming from but putting myself in FH's cousin's shoes, i think i'd be offended.... and if the fam was mad too, i'd just rescedule.... sorry... not much help here

I kinda agree; I feel like there isn't anything else that can really be done. It isn't really anyone's fault, just a bad misunderstanding more or less. I feel like the only options are have it and people will have to choose (which will probably cause hard feelings) OR change the date. Sorry

This is a tough one but clearly there was some miscommunication. If it was me and even though it would be annoying, I would change my e-party. Good luck.
