uh-oh, i feel bad

someone on my FH's side just emailed me and said 'i think there was some confusion about my gift...i know it was an overwhelming day, but i gave you...xyz'

i felt so bad. but the wierd thing is, i hHAVE the correct info next to her name, so i don't know what it is i wrote in her thank you card that made her say 'hmmm...'

they got us towels, bath rugs, etc. etc. (all not from our registry)...and I'm wondering whether i was generic or whether i literally wrote 'thank you for the XXX'

i didn't have the guts to ask her 'so...what DID i write down next to your thank you...' this is someone he doesn't even know well.

so i just said 'thank you for bringing this to my attention. we really apprecaite all the gifts and it WAS an overwhelming day and it was hard for the girls to keep track'

so moral of the story: tell someone to print out a good, alphabetical list of all invitees and have someone who knows the guests write down the gifts! we did this for the NY shower, but the Jersey shower was a bit of a mess....
