uh-oh... turns out i'm NOT married

I've been waiting for my marriage certificate in the mail and got antsy since i only have 30 days to get my husband on my insurance.

so i went to the City Clerk to get the certificate (which was a pain in the *** btw) they were about to hand it over and she said ...

'oh wait... your officiant sign it!'

so technically i don't think i'm married.

and the icing on the cake, my priest retired right after my ceremony...

so lots of name change/insurance headaches ahead

ohhhhh what a PITA!!! does this mean you have to plan a whole other wedding!!

Can both of you just go down to the clerk's office together and have the judge there do it in 20 minutes to make it all official? That's crazy your officiant didn't sign!!!!

Ugh, that's such cr@p ... if your officiant just RETIRED I am sure he/she has performed enough weddings to know that he/she WAS SUPPOSED TO SIGN THE MARRIAGE LICENSE. What a PITA ... that would annoy me to no end!

If you can get the actual officiant you had to sign it, can you get somebody else at the church to do it on his behalf?

I'm so sorry this happened to you. . .but it will all work out!

Hopefully the church will be able to get him or someone to sign it for you. When my parents were married, their officient never mailed in the certificate! The date on their actual marraige license is about 8 years from the date of their wedding! Love teasing them about that one.
