So my mom called my DJ to add the uplighting for me since I'm so sick I can't even talk. Well, some other girl booked it for that day. So he tells my mom he might have enough to do the one wall behind the bride and groom. Is it just me or is that retarded? One wall? I wanted the whole room. What do you girls think?

Re: Uhhh!! Uplighting
I guess for pictures it would be nice, but I wouldn't bother. It would probably look weird and how often are you actually going to be sitting at that table. What about your florist, do they do uplighting?

I'll probably try a different company. The florist doesn't do it. Any suggestions on who I could go with who is as affordable as the DJ?

Hmm... I don't know who your DJ is but I'm using Tommy's Tunes and I recently added uplighting at the Estate - they told me that at the estate you can really only do 1 wall anyway b/c one wall is the bar, one wall is the windows and the other wall is the doors. So they do it with only the wall behind the DJ. Tommy told me that otherwise you'd have to drape all the walls in white and THEN add uplighting, which would get really expensive. So... we decided to have them uplight just that one wall.

Question, are you getting a lighting package through your DJ? (non-uplighting) If you are then yes, you can get 1 wall uplit and it will look good. BUT if your not having any other type of lights then it might look a bit off.
Oh, and most DJ's use uplighting behind them anyway so techincally you'll have 2 walls uplit. (They put poles up and drape a white cloth behind them so it shows up well)

Re: Uhhh!! Uplighting
I don't think one wall will look bad.......if you really want it all around, there are a lot of uplighting places that just do that. I can give you some numbers if you want when I go home.

I second calling NY Lounge Decor. We are going with them for lighting. We are getting color change lights for the reception and single color lights for the ceremony for 1305

I do have a light package that doesn't include uplighting.

Are you using Tommy's Tunes too? Something doesn't make sense. When I spoke to my MC at the EW Showcase yesterday, he said the same thing about the uplighting - that they only do the wall behind the DJ. Weird...

Yeah, I am. I'm gonna have to give him a call. There are other bare walls you can uplight. I don't get it.

you don't HAVE to drap walls with the white fabric to uplight them.

Thanks, I'm going to look into them. Any other suggested places?
