So two of our friends/colleagues were dating for over a year and were invited to the wedding as a couple. FH just called and said that they broke up today! Apparently they're still planning to come to the wedding (seperately), but where do we sit them? When we did the seating chart, they were seated together with other people from FH's office. Do we move one to another table, or leave them at the same table and hope they're adult enough to be able to handle it? Thanks for your help, girls!

I don't know, FH was still at work and couldn't go into details, but he said he sent his one co-worker home b/c she was so upset. They broke up once before, back in the fall, and he was fine but she was a mess. I don't know if it's similar this time or not.

I would hope that they would be adult enough to sit together. They understand that they were invited as a couple and plans were made accordingly.
Get more info if you can, but I would just not sit them enxt to each other.

I would sit them seperately. I know I wouldn't want to be seated with someone I had just broken up with!!!

instead of speculating their wishes, why not ask them which they prefer?

Good point!!
I will ask what they prefer. If they don't feel comfortable sitting at the same table, I think it would be possible to move him to another table of my friends since he knows them, and leave her with their co-workers.
