Um, if you've been to pre cana yet or are going...

Did you get a CD with a lecture on it about why not to use birth control? That really bothers me. I'm not fond of the church as it is, but this is pushing me towards the edge, yet again.

I don't really care what the church's views on this are. I mean, unless they want to help support my baby that will surely be born if I don't use birth control, then they should not be talking to me about it. And the BEST part is that a lot of the weekend will be about financial stability I'm so annoyed now that I agreed to get married in the church

i totally agree, and i really think that the church needs to come into the 21st century. its all about their control over you. i don't agree with a lot of what the church agrees with, but once you are married, you can raise your kids as you and dh see fit.

It must be that particular church you're going to. Mine was really good about everything. Sorry you have to put up with that!

My sister's getting married there in April! We are getting married in St. James, the next town over.

It definitely varies from church to church and I know that. I'm just annoyed.

Your Church is where my brother's kids were baptized. Did you go to school over there? I went to West, then Central.

Now I'm going to have to check my yearbook!

We're going next month and haven't received a CD but I wouldn't be surprised if we did. Their BC of choice is 'rythym' . Yeah, don't think that works too well if you want to not have kids (didn't we learn about 'pulling out' in like Jr. High?!) but that's their views...what can we do. I don't agree on a lot of their views, but I guess no religion is perfect (and that's an understatement!).

We finished our Precana two months ago. We hated the thought of going there on the first night but ended up loving it afterwards. We had two lead couples instead of one and they are the most wonderful, caring people. We went over this topic you are discussing and it is a scientific method and it is proven to work if used properly. I think if you do this as a couple together, it actually brings you closer and you will also know why your FH will be even crazier for you around the days you are ovulating.

ETA>>> We didn't get a CD. They said that classes are given by another couple and they make the information readily available for everyone.

It's kinda funny that they gave a CD with a program on their reproductive views. Their views are so antiquated that it would have been more appropriate if they put them on an 8 track.

Its like a compatibility test on drugs LOL

They ask you all sorts of stuff about rasiing your kids and finances and your spouse... and then they compare your answers and tell you what you need to work on.
