Umbrella Insurance
Anyone ever buy this? If you're unfamiliar, there is insurance you can buy that if it rains or snows on your wedding day you can receive up to $10,000. I believe I saw it on The Knot where you punch in the day and time of your wedding and they tell you how much rain/snow will need to fall in order for you to collect. The more insurance you buy, the more you collect. For example, if I were to buy $200 worth of insurance, if it rains 0.4' on May 31st in my area between 1 and 4PM, I collect $10,000. Heh, I don't think the rain would bother me so much if I knew I had $10,000 coming to me. BTW, is 0.4' a lot of rain?

Re: Umbrella Insurance
I agree Jennbaby, and you know what they say. April showers bring May flowers. From one May bride to another.

Re: Umbrella Insurance
I bought the insurance! It's called the rainy day policy or something like that. I'm a gambler at heart.....it was 100$ - if it rains more that 0.3 of an inch, which I think is a lot, between 3pm and 6pm on my wedding day, I get paid 5,000$. They measure in Farmingdale, and I am getting married in West Hempstead/Garden City, which could either work for me or against me! Of course I hope for sun so much, but in the case of a torrential downpour, at least I can be preoccupied thinking of the money!!

Re: Umbrella Insurance
I am planning on buying it as well. I look at it this way-- if it pours I won't care because I will have $10,000. If it doesn't I paid $200 for a nice day.

Does this mean that you don't have the wedding if it rains/snows? Or that you just get a bonus if it does?Welcome New Vendors
