Umm, If I live in NYC and am getting married in LI then where do I get my lisense?
I know they are both NYS, but someone told me that I have to go to LI. Is this true?

no..you can get it in either place. I got my marriage licence in the city and we were married in East Meadow.

as far as I know, it's a state issued license, not area.

Nope, doesn't make any difference as long as its NY State
We got our marriage license in White Plains (Westchester Cty) and were married in Long Island

We were told it was a state license so as long as you got married in New York State it doesnt matter where you get it.

We got ours in Queens and are getting married in Jericho - it doesn't matter. Also, I think it's $5 cheaper in NYC for some reason.

We live in NYC and got married on LI. We got our license in NYC.
