A woman who is like 45 and wears childrens clothes .
The same woman also told her (the same conversation) that her daughter was sick and in the hospital and didn't goto a party that my best friend saw her at. My best friend said If I was a real Biatch I would have ratted out her kid!

People are amazing
What did your friend say to that? You almost want to say, 'Yep, I'm normal now. How are you doing with that?'

I was on the bus yesterday and as we passed by a Lane Bryant two young girls started talking about how they hate passing by 'those stores' b/c the models in the windows make them sick. I wanted to get up and scream! at them.
For some reason its ok to bash overweight people. I don't get it.

What makes me laugh is when I say to my mom 'I love this sweater, blah, blah. blah' she goes, ooo where did you get it and of course I say Avenue. She's like, what sizes do they have. Mind you i have told her this everytime she like something that I wear.
What kills me is that so many store carry regular sizes and no women sizes. And if they carry women sizes they are cut small or hideous.

That's awful. If anyone says anything like that to her again, she should say, 'Yes, I'm normal now that I've gotten my antlers removed.' Or 'Yes, sometimes I miss my third arm, but it was time to say goodbye...'

Re: Ummm.... OK listen to what someone told my Best Friend.
I got comments like that all the time when I lost weight....and people thought it was acceptable!
My two favorites....
1. My husband's boss had only seen me in a picture Tom had on his desk of me at work...so one time, we were at a Halloween party, and I had lost about 30 pounds since the picture was taken...so after a few drinks he says tome... 'You don't look as fat as you do in that picture on Tom's desk.' I had no idea what to say...so I just stood there...my jaw on the floor....and he continued telling me how fat I looked int hat picture for like ten minutes...until Tom returned with the drinks he was off getting and we moved away fromt he jerk.
2. I used to work in an office and our accountant came in once in a while, but not very often. He apparently hadn't been in in a while, and I lost that weight....so I finally saw him at a function and he didnt' recognize me, which I was thrilled about becuase he was sleazy. At the end of the night he came over to me and said, 'Lori, I didn't recognize you. I don't know if it's that I've never seen you dressed up, or I've never seen you skinny.'
What is wrong with people?????

I dont get that either, since the models for those stores are barely what Id consider plus-sized!!!

Re: Ummm.... OK listen to what someone told my Best Friend.
I lost about 17 pounds for the wedding, and at a post-wedding party, a friend of my mom's came up to my mom, my sister and I and told my sister that now she was the fattest one in the family! The thing is, my sister is not, and even if she was, I don't understand how someone could say something like that!
