Under the minimum - extras

Under the minimum - extras

It looks like we aren't reaching our minimum. What kind of add-ins do people ask the hall to throw in to offset this? All I can think of is an extra station at cocktail hour or extra desserts, but I'm not sure which would be better.

I didn't know halls throw in things if you don't reach the minimum, good to know lol...I would say more desserts make a bigger impact then an extra station. I wouldn't notice one more dish at Cocktail hour, but I would notice a big tray of Cookies! lol
Or I would see about doing a farewell. Like Hot Pretzels or Cotton Candy as guests leave.

I vote for some kind of farewell station! I went to a wedding recently that gave out hot pretzels at the end - YUM! My sisters wedding gave our little mini pizzas at the end, everyone raved about it.

My cousin had a candy bar as their farewell station!

I dont think all halls throw in extras. I asked my BM at the time and he said they dont do that bc the food is order in advance. I would check with your BM.

I'm confused. I didn't think venues through in extras because you didn't meet your minimum. I was under the impression you still had to pay for the minimum amount of people even if the people aren't there. For instance, I had to guarantee 175 people but if only 170 show up I still have to pay for 175.

you aree correct you do have to pay for your minimum regardless. But if it is a large amount sometimes the venue will add some extra's in to make up some of the difference in money since they are not making as many dinners. It all depends on the venue. IF you have a DOC ask them to help you with this.
