i haven't picked my gown yet but i'm already thinking of the undergarments!
do you have to buy the undergarments once you found your gown? like do you have to have it for your first fitting? similar to bringing the shoe you will be wearing?
i want to lose a few more inches and i dunno if you get the undergarments closer to the wedding date or what....

you need to have them for the first fitting only because they are going to fit that dress perfectly to you and if you get it fitted without the undergarments you are wearing that Day Of, it may not fit the same.

Yes, at the first fitting. Not when you're getting measured to purchase/order the gown.

before first fitting. you don't want to get them before you try on your gown because you won't know what you specifically need until you find the dress!

I wore a regular strapless bra when I went dress shopping, but when I chose my dress I also ordered a long bra with boning (like corset style) which the saleswoman recommended. It actually made the dress look and feel better!
