Does anyone have one? I heard I can get a digital underwater (non-disposable) camera. Any thoughts/recommendations?
We are honeymooning in Bora Bora and Moorea, would love to get something like this for FH.

Re: Underwater Camera?
I don't, but I did have an underwater case for my old digital camera.
I used to have a sony cybershot, and one of the accessories you could buy was a waterproof case. It was this really thick plastic container that you put the camera in and it sealed air-tight. I used it in Key West and brought it in the water and went snorkeling. It was the best thing ever! I got some amazing pictures.
If it's an option for you, I'd highly recommend purchasing one

Re: Underwater Camera?
A lot of Sony cameras have underwater kits available. FH bought one for his regular cybershot and we always get GREAT pics when we're on vacation!

Re: Underwater Camera?
we usually just buy the underwater disposable cameras and the pics come out ok, not the greatest but pretty good for a disposable

Re: Underwater Camera?
I would suggest a case rather than an Underwater camera. I have researched them because I dive and want something and the cases actually seem to be better cause to get a good camera it will be very expensive.

Re: Underwater Camera?
We purchased a $15 underwater disposable camera from CVS and it worked great. Some pics were a little grainy, but overall we were happy with the pics.

Agreed. I have a Canon Digital Elph that FH and I bought an underwater case for (the case was around $250). We both Scuba dive, and the camera in the case works beautifully! I would definitely recommend that over an underwater camera. If you have a digital camera already - see if they make an underwater case for your particular camera.

Re: Underwater Camera?
I have borrowed my mom's Olympus underwater camera. It's very small and takes great pictures. It can be a little tricky to line up shots because it is difficult to see the screen underwater.

I have an underwater digital camera from Avon. I have yet to use it though. I ordered it last Summer and then it was backordered until the Fall. I'll be using it in a few weeks!

Re: Underwater Camera?
Olympus and FujiFilm both make decent ones. I spent about an hour deciding on one before our Bahamas cruise last April and then just bought a new camera! I think Olympus makes a better camera by far but the photographer I was chatting with at BB said that this is about the only camera that Fuji has ever gotten right
