Uneven Bridal Party??

Is it weird to have an uneven amount of bm's and grooomsmen? I'm worried that it might look funny...

I've seen it in pictures and I thought it looked pretty odd....wouldn't do it.

I've seen it, to me it does not look odd... I would choose my bridal party more on the basis of who is most important to me and who I would want in it, not just based on the #'s, JMO.

no...mine are uneven too....i have 6 BM and 4 GM

it doesn't matter....if you have 10 best friends you want to ask and FI only has 3 are you going to cut out 7 of your friends to make it even? THe photographer doesn't have to put all the BMs on your side and all the GM on his side, you can have 2 girls walk with 1 guy or 2 guys walk with 1 girl....it doesn't matter you pick who is important to you and who you want there. JMO

Thanks for your thoughts. It's been stressful for me because he only has 4 that he know he wants and I have 6.( I have 2 sisters and he doesn't have a brother). We could maybe have 5 guys, but I don't think we should ask just to make it even and I am having a hard time trying to figure out who I would cut. What about the processional and introductions, how would that work?

Mine is unveven as well. If have 5 girls, he has 7 guys. I am not driving myself crazy stressing over it. It will all work out.

we will be uneven...

originally we wanted 3 and 3 but when one GM couldn't give a definite yes we substituted 2 of FH's brothers (couldn't have one and not the other). i didn't want to add any more girls, so we are 9 total

as far as pictures go, we will not have too many posed shots, and even if we did, i think there is always a way to compose a shot without it looking 'funny' (that is an indication of a good/bad photographer...)

I agree. Our wedding party was going to have one more guy on it then girl and we were ok with it. Then one of the groomsmen passed away about 6 months before the wedding and that made the bridal party even. In our case, we would have preferred the uneven party.

Mine is uneven.....6 BM'sand 7 GM's....I don't think it'sa big deal at all

I agree with searsc that you ask people based on their importance in your lives, not whether or not the sides will match. I have 4 girls right now, he hs three guys, I wouldn't think to ask him to scramble to find another guy just because. He has two sisters too who aren't in the party just because we don't want it too big, but I'd have them if they could a) afford it or b) we were having a bigger wedding

I don't think it looks odd. It's your wedding - whoever is most important to you to be by your side is who should be in the wedding party. To cut out people you want or, worse, add people you don't just so it's even is silly.

Mine is uneven! Most photographers can arrange it to look good in pictures. I didnt want to ask people I didn't really care about just to make it even. Do who YOU want up there with you, IMO...
