Hi everyone. So, our bridal party just became uneven. My fiancé had a very hard time picking between two people for his last spot, so he just asked both of them. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Or ideas for how to best handle it? My biggest concerns are the aisle and the dance at the reception when the band is going to ask someone to come up.

We have more GM then BM's. Some of the girls will walk in with two guys. Haven't really thought about the rest but I know it will all work out

You could always have that extra groomsman walk your mother down the aisle, if your dad is walking you =)

The GM and BM can double up walking down the aisle and into the reception hall.
If you want your bridal party to join in the 1st dance with the bride and groom, you can either have one person's SO join in, ask a aunt, grandmother, etc. My couples were all matched up, but I only had 1 flower girl. Her mother danced with her, I asked her beforehand to join in so no one would look awkward/confused.

It's not a big deal, trust me. We are having uneven now due to one bridesmaid backing out (may be temporary due to financial hardship). So we are just having one girl come out with two of the guys.
As for the dance concern, he or she can plan ahead and dance with their date if they have one or someone else can step in with him/her.

We had an uneven bridal party (3 girls and 5 guys) and it worked out fine.

we have one more GM than BM, my FH is having his brother (his best man) walk down with him and stand up there with him and then it will be an even number walking down the aisle.

FH has one less person than I do, so I'm just going to have one guy walk down with two girls. Oh well!

We went back and forth so many times with this issue...when my sister announced she was pregnant, we finally had a good purpose for making my BIL a groomsman...I call him my baby bearer! He will walk my mom and my 6 month old nephew down the aisle, hand off the baby and join the guys, then when it is his turn to head back up the aisle, he will grab the baby and continue walking down.
Be creative, its just important to have everyone who is important to you.

@ MarisaD, thanks for asking this. We are having the same issue. I had a BM back out, tried to fill with a friend, that one has a fmaily wedding, tried another friend, that one has financial hardship. @ all the ladies who answered: Thank you. I am still hoping to get my 5th girl, but if not it's nice to know that it all pretty much works out.

We have 4 BM and 5 GM. Out of the 5 we have of course the best man and an honorary best man. So they will both be with my sister.
As for the first dance you can have them dance with their SO or their date or someone special in your life.
My sister had the same thing at her wedding and the honorary best man danced with his date.
