I realize that there are about a million posts on this topic, but the answers are the same and I need some help. My sister (MOH) and I are planning my party. I want to do something fun and creative that doesn't involve strippers. Everyone suggests Mangia e Bevi, but that's where we went for the sister's party. (BTW, it was totally fun, I highly recommend it). We want to do something different from the one's we've been to recently (Awesome 80s Prom, pole dancing lessons, Mangia e Bevi, Lips, Lucky Cheng's, spa party). Are there any other fun ideas floating around out there? Fun classes/lessons, places to eat/drink etc?
Can anyone help a picky bride and her maid of honor??

that's a great idea!
There also this place in the city where you have a little grill in the middle of your table and you grill your own food. It's a lot of fun and delicious!
norwegian cruise lines cruise to nowhere, over night cruise........just a thought from another liw lady awhile ago, we cant do for mine but it sounded fun.

Hmmm...interests. I've been interested the crafty ideas (like painting pottery), but I haven't heard of many places that do that. I also like to ski, so that would be cool for a weekend, but probably prohibitively expensive. I love wine tasting, but I'm not one to have a rowdy party whilst doing it. Here's a summary of interests: outdoor activities, skiing, drinking, arts and crafts, theme-events

I think taking classes is a fun idea. I've seen cooking classes that look interesting. Also my MOH had a passion party for her bacholorette party last year. It was not at all raunchy and I really enjoyed it. Got some really nice lotions and room fresheners but there were also adult novelties available as well. Feel free to FM me with any questions

Hmmm...well, since you are getting married in January, I guess the Vineyards are out of the question. Although, there are plenty of wine bars that you could go to. The Melting Pot Fondue Restaurant (in Farmingdale) is pretty neat. I'm not sure if you are superstitious or not, but I've heard of people hiring a tarot card reader for just parties in general. It's not creepy at all. I've done it before and it's actually very interesting (if you hire the right person). I think skiing would be fun, but I guess it all depends on how much everyone can afford.

Thanks everyone for the ideas! Keep them coming!
There's this awesome handbag place in Boston where you can have a party and design your own purse - www.1154LILL.com
I think this would be perfect. Does anyone know a place in NY or LI that does this?
hugs, K

I just looked on that handbag website and it says that they will come to your home to host a handbag party.
