In an effort to conserve funds I am looking for unique centerpiece ideas. I am having a daytime wedding so candle won't do (but I wish they could!) I am having a 'garden' theme- which makes not wanting lots of flowers sounds ridiculous. I had thought about doing cheap baskets and doing the flwoers myself.

For your garden theme, you could get inexpensive water pails and paint them any color you like and put colorful flowers in them (instead of a vase).
Wow that's a great idea to use the garden pails. Also, with a day wedding and garden theme you can probably use some of the more inexpensive garden flowers like daisies, gerbers, sunflowers? I love floral arrangements that look like they were just plucked from the garden. I think you can have a lot of fun with a garden theme and still keep it relatively inexpensive.

In Teaneck, NJ.
I live in NYC now but grew up in NJ. Getting married in NYC with a guestlist of close to 300 people would cost 50% MORE than having it in NJ!

You could do small potted plants, in a regular pot, in a watering can....etc. And just paint the table numbers on the pot.

not ridiculous. gotta do whatever works for you guys. tho you could probably find smaller, low cps for not so expensive. something like one of the two below maybe? (i got great prices on mine from verbena).

something i just thought of. you could grow fresh herbs in cute pots ahead of time (my basil grew super fast!) and use them as the CPs and ppl could take them home after the wedding and use the herbs. just an idea.
other ideas you could so something fun with the pale you put flowers in birds nests favors presented in grass CP..love that! this one said CP under 10 bucks!
