Re: Unique FAVORS????

I thought about giving baby trees or flower bulbs out, but figured all the guys would toss them. Then I wondered what everyone who lives in an apt would do with them.

We're giving out full-sized bottles of chardonnay. I wanted something people might use

Re: Unique FAVORS????

I have a bunch of ideas that Im not using. What is your budget? When is your wedding? Do you have a theme or design element that runs through your wedding?

Ive seen the trees and they are cute but they look very Christmassy - also, not many people will actually plant them.

Re: Unique FAVORS????

Not sure of the budget - trying to keep it low. As for themes - it's at the vanderbilt mansion so I guess maybe a victorianish thing maybe. The wedding is in March - at the end of the month... thanks!

Re: Unique FAVORS????

We're giving sterling silver bookmarks with a mini book of poetry. Maybe try and give something that represents something about the two of you.

Re: Unique FAVORS????

I thought this was very cute:

If you don't like the love letter one, there are bunch of others (mini bonsai, mini zen garden), etc..

If you give out seeds or bulbs or saplings - this a pretty way to package it.

Hope that helps.

We looked at the vanderbilt mansion & loved it. We also have a victorian-ish theme-it's actually what I call 'Old World Elegance'we are HM in Europe & these are our favors
a set of 6 wine glass charms per couple in a sheer organza drawstring bag with our tag
Good Luck!

Re: Unique FAVORS????

We decided instead of Favors we are donating money to a childrens hospital. I think most favors are dust collectors so we rather put our money to a good cause, We will be making the donation in our guests names. At our reception we will print up a scroll and display it on our tables to let our guests know what we did.

Re: Unique FAVORS????

LOVE LOVE Stef's idea for the love letters...very victorian...

the only thing I can think of right now is to have a few potted plants/trees as your centerpieces and then have the guests take one for their favor...

Re: Unique FAVORS????

We are doing Krispy Kremes donuts since FH's family loves them but cannot get them because they are all from New England and Canada. I will also be doing the Sunday paper.

I didn't want a dust collector either. Ours will be eaten and read.

But I totally LOVE the Love Letter mini-sets. Stef showed them to me before. I also think they would make a great BM gift, along with another pretty things.

The wine charms are pretty expensive. So you need a big favor budget to them. But the idea is great.

I am doing the bulb thing - We are giving out two tulip bulbs in a little white gift box to each couple. We got them from Tree and Floral Beginnings for a good price.

Re: Unique FAVORS????

I like the lotto ticket idea but FH wants to actually give something they can physically bring home and keep I have no clue what I can do without spending bookoo bucks. I was thinking of making placecard candles like stef is doing and having tham double as a favor with the ticket.

Re: Unique FAVORS????

We are decorating small clay pots and planting a 2' lavender plant. rather than put them on the individual tables, we are going to place all the favors on a 'favor table'. Hopefully that way if they boys don't want one, they wont take one.

(The lavender plants connect with our favor theme:
For the engagement party I made glycerin and lavender soap, For the bridal shower we are making lavender sachets.)

I have been given mini-trees in the past, and
they are still living :)
