What are some of the best/unique Engagement Or Shower Gifts that your received or even you have given to someone else.

we gave one couple their toasting flutes, and put them in a pretty basket with a bottle of champagne and a gc for dinner...

it was $$$ but we are very close.

We recieved an engraved marriage certificate holder. I have it displayed in my curio cabinet.
It was one of the nicest gifts we received.

ETA: Here is a pic of one I found online for an idea of what it looks like-- mine is similar... (but a bit nicer than this one )

i heard about ppl giving a basket full of decorations for all the different holidays during the year (ie. christmas, easter, 4th of july, st patty's, valentines day, ect). I think thats such a cute idea but its something you'd have to actively work on for a full year.

I've done a few things that I know my friends have really appreciated. For a couple of my friends I've made them HM bags. I bought Just Married tote bags and filled them with stuff like a personalized Mrs. XXXX bikini, beach towel, sunblock, a trashy romance novel, water bottle for the pool, flip flops, etc...

My friend received an emboidered blanket for her shower. It was embroided with their names, birthdates and wedding dates. There were also spaces for their (hopefully) future children. It was beautiful and such a sweet and thoughtful gift.

For my friends shower coming up, we're doing my HM bag and we're also making a basket with GC for their HM- couples massage, helicopter tour in Hawaii, candlight dinner, and a bunch of Hyatt GC that they can put towards whatever they need.
