What is everyone doing to make their weddings stand out from the rest?

Re: Unique Ideas
We're having an Incredible Hulk ice sculpture (this was obviously FH's idea).

Re: Unique Ideas
We had our menus made of chocolate and placed at every other place setting at the reception.
Since DH is Irish, we had a bagpiper play as he walked into the hall.
About 30 seconds into the father/daugher dance, the DJ called all the father/daughters in the audience to join in. Same thing with the mother/son dance. We wanted to make it more interactive.
My guestbook was a compilation of photos of me and DH during our 2 years together. Guests signed around the pics. Now I have a great photo album/guestbook on our coffee table. I also brought it with me the rehearsal dinner so the 'important' people got to sign it for sure.

Re: Unique Ideas
We're having candy apples (wrapped in cellophane and tied with raffia ribbon) as our place card holders.

Re: Unique Ideas
nothing im not really interested in making it stand out so much as making sure everyone has a good time... were having the fewest stoppages of dancing possible... once for main course, once for cake cutting and mother/son, father/daughter dances...

I'm on board with this. No matter what grand ideas we have, it's probably been done before. Instead, we're trying to focus on our guests. I don't want them leaving with a favor, I want them leaving with a swag bag filled with desserts to take home, candy, picture frame, their photostrips from the photobooth, a CD, etc. I'm considering ordering white castle hamburgers to hand out at the end of the night- I know everyone will appreciate that!
