unique ideas needed

for my cocktail reception tables.
B/c it's a cocktail reception, there are no plates, glasses, silverware on the tables. But, I think just centerpieces are kind of weird.
Any ideas?

just do floating roses with little candles around them, or candles in the middle of the table with rose petals scattered around it on the table. thats what i did. simple but elegant.

I am just having votives, because it will be right after sunset and getting dark
