Unique shower ideas?

my friend through a 'hot and spicy' shower.

she left it up to the guests to decide where to go with it. everything was themed around hot peppers. for the wishing well she got lots of 'hot' lingerie and hot sauce! but it was a nice twist on the traditional shower.

I've always thought the more old school showers were fun ideas, if in the correct 'quaint' kind of setting. Like a tea shower, where your guests can bring tea, china, or other 'entertaining' items for the bride, could easily be set either in a tea room or in someone's house, or in a backyard.

Or an 'around the clock' shower, where you would assign each guest a time and they bring a present to represent that time of day (which would probably be a tad more conducive to sticking to a registry). It would give your guests a guideline, but also allow them to be creative as well like for 11pm o'clock, a guest could bring lingerie or massage stuff, 11am could bring a crepe or waffle maker (think a brunch). Clearly you would have to assign more than 1 guest a particular item (i doubt you are only inviting 12 guests), but that's OK--dinner time could clearly use more than 1 gift! :)

You could make it like a beauty type day?

If you know someone with a big kitchen you could have someone come and and do a cooking class.

Or go to a pottery place.
