Unique Wedding Songs

Hi!

I was wondering if any brides or brides-to-be chose to have a unique wedding song rather than the 'typical' slow dance? Was it fast or just not what you would think of as a wedding song?

I kind of want to do something that's out of the ordinary but I'm not sure what yet. Any ladies have any ideas of what songs would be different but still appropriate for a wedding?

We used 'Ever After' by Carrie Underwood, from the Disney movie 'Enchanted'.

Also, gina409 used this pretty song from one of the High School Musical movies. I don't remember the name though.

we picked 'right here, right now' by sheri miller. google it. its amazing!! she is pretty much an undiscovered talent right now ,but the song is just perfect!!

I think this might be our too!! (thanks to you!!) I really wanted to get her to come sing it for us but it was out of our budget. If anything changes with our budget I'm definitely doing this!!

FH also likes the Jason Mraz song and wants to incorporate that into the wedding.

That's funny, cause we're thinking of using 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' but covered by Michael Buble!!

Thanks for the reply's everyone! It's good to hear that I'm not the only one out there thinking of using something a little different.

I also want to do something towards the end of the night were FH dance to 'Love is Strange' by Sylvia and Mickey. It was in Dirty Dancing (the song were they are in the dance studio and crawling on the floor).

FH and I are Hispanic so we are incorporating our culture by including 2 different genres in addition to the traditional slow dance. We are starting off with a slow dance and them moving into bachata (because I am dominican and we both love it!) and then a salsa (he is half puerto rican and we took salsa lessons together a while ago). I am excited

I love it too!!!! How do you guys plan on dancing to it? FH feels like people will expect a more traditional, slow song- but it really does have such meaning to us!!

I was trying to figure out how to dance to it, I saw online other couples dancing to it like it was a slow song. But I was thinking of taking dance lessons and having them work with the song so we don't look stupid out there. People may expect a little more traditional but I figure once they hear it they will love it.

love that song... possibly our wedding song!

I don't really know what a 'traditional' first dance song is...but that's probably because I've never been to a wedding!! But we're doing Do You Remember by Jack Johnson.
