Re: Unique Weddings?
Nothing major. I am having the DJ play part of a song for FFIL. It is set to the tune of YMCA but, it is in German and it is all about a man with his name. He loves the song and goes crazy every time he hears it so, I stole it and made a copy so my DJ can have it. He has no idea. I am also making the last song of the night the same one my father used to use when he was a DJ and dedicating it to his business. He had to retire because he lost his eyesite and was very upset about it. He has no idea I am doing this either.

Re: Unique Weddings?
I think that I am doing a few things that might be different. I am not doing ceremony music, except for when I walk down. I chose this because we are getting married outside with the river right next to us and I want just the sound of nature and my family and friends. The music for my walk is a song that a friend of mine wrote called 'Walk This World'. It is going to be sung by 6 of my talented friends accapella. We had a friend of ours ordained and registered with the city so that he can marry us. We are doing our programs as theatre playbills, our RD invitations are theatre tickets, and tables will be named after shows that we have been in since we met.
I don't know that any of this is Unique, but it was a way of pesonalizing our wedding. Some people might find some of our choices odd, but we think it is going to be beautiful and most importantly ours.

Re: Unique Weddings?
We're doing a couple of little things to make our wedding personal, though maybe not unique. We're having table names instead of numbers, we're having a calypso band and frozen drinks being served during our coctail hour, we're going to write our own vows, in addition to regular favors I'm going to make goody bags filled with candy like you used to get as a kid at the end of a b-day party. That's all I can think of right now. We're doing/making a lot of things ourselves, so even though it won't be personal to other people, it will be to us since we worked to make it happen.

Re: Unique Weddings?
The best way to have a unique wedding is to have a theme. Then run with it. The best idea I've seen so far, is the 'candy' theme. This bride went all out and it was absolutely beautiful. Her menu's were part of her favors. They were made of a block of chocolate with the menu written on them. She had a couple of signature drinks like the chocolate martini and the jolly rancher. As placecards, she used big lolipops and put the name and table number on a sticker. As the other part of her favor she gave out goody bags. Her centerpieces were candy filled. It was done really nice!!

Re: Unique Weddings?
I was going to have mine be very differenet, pretty much by being just a dinner party, but that changed. Now the difernces we have are that we are skipping a lot traditions.
No entrance, no tossing of anything ( after cermony or durign reception[eg.-bouquet, garter]), no parent dances (unless they are hurt by this) No solo first dance. No participation dances.
Probably a toast, if the best man wants to.
The ceremony & decor/attire are all very traditional though.
