I dont want this leading to any sort of drama or anything just a simple question... are you ladies going to watch the new movie united 93? I think I will be going in an hour to watch it... Im torn though bc I may not be ready for a movie like this
ETA: Well I just came home I went and saw it. I too saw the A&E version and I have to be honest it was very similar if not the same exact as the A&E one. Some things I did not agree with- I say if you honestly dont feel you are ready to watch this movie then please dont go and watch it. Everyone at the theater was silent you can hear a pin drop.... very emotional.

Re: United....
I know what you mean. Part of me would love to see it but I just don't think I'm ready for something that powerful. Maybe when its out on DVD I will see it.

Re: United....
i saw the one on A&E about flight 93... it's amazing and heroic what those people did but i sobbed for a good part of the movie and probably 30-60 minutes after... and that was just the A&E version... so i don't know if i want to put myself through that again. it makes me feel bad b/c i don't want to ignore such an important part of our world today-- and those poor people BUT it's so devastating and really still hard to believe it actually happened...
so i don't know at this point. i also don't like the fact that hollywood is making money off of it. i thought the proceeds should have went to the 9/11 fund or in part to the policeman/Fire Fighters families fund and the victims of flight 93's families... something of that nature.

Let us know how it is...
I don't like that people are profitting off of it but I think its important for people to see and for us to remember how we felt that day and the horrible attacks that occured.... I don't think we should forget or cast aside what happened...

Re: United....
There's a part of me that wants to see the movie,(I worked in lower Manhattan, and saw the first two plans hit the buildings), but there's also a part of me that really afraid of the outcome of seeing it all over again.

Re: United....
I don't want to see it, at least not in the movie theaters where I will be crying.
Everyone knows someone who was affected by the events of 9/11 so for some this movie will be hard to watch. I have heard that the producers spoke w/all the family members and received their permission. Also, some proceeds of the movie are going to the 9/11 memorial fund.
I worked two blocks away for the WTC and on 9/11, I ran for my life and know many ppl. who weren't as lucky as I was that day. This movie would bring back 9/11 to me and I'm not ready to re-visit it because it's a day that unfortunately myself or our country will ever forget.

Re: United....
I saw the A & E movie and had to turn it off about 1/2 way through it because I started having a panic attack. I just don't think I'm ready for it yet. Although, I don't know if I'll ever be ready to re-live it.

I think I'd want to see it just to see the perspective of the maker of the movie. I saw Fahrenheit 911 and even though people said it was anti-American it was my choice to see it and make my own thoughts. Im sure it was very emotional the movie even if you didnt have family or friends on the flight.
