Would you guys be horrified if your unity candle went out? I went to a wedding recently and it went out and people were like, oh wow, OMG...I never thought it was a big deal...probably just a cheap candle right?

Things like that happens, I don't really think it is a big deal. I don't think cheap had to do anything with it either

Re: Unity Candle
The priest said K-Mart sucks. I couldn't believe that! He had a sense of humor though. It was just odd that it happened because things went wrong before and after the ceremony. Just bad luck I guess!

As long as it doesn't fall over and set the table on fire, I don't think it's too big of a deal

Re: Unity Candle
That's funny. Actually our priest told us a story about a ceremony that he did where the couple lie the candle and after blowing out the taper, the bride blew out the unity candle He said he just went on and didn't draw attention to it but thought it was a 'sign'....

Re: Unity Candle
We are getting married outdoors and that is one of my fears... a big wind and my candle goes out. I recently came across the 'blessing of the hands' on another cite... I was so touched so we are doing that instead. We have to rewrite some parts... a bit too religious and the part about my FH's hands fixing things around the house More like me fixing things...

I don't know how well the unity candle is going to work since we're getting married at the beach, but we're going to give it a try. If it goes out, I certainly won't take it as a sign.
