Unity Candle - HELP!!

Unity Candle - HELP!!

Hi Ladies,
We have just under 3 weeks until our wedding and we need to find a unity candle! I went to a religious shop and they were asking almost $80 which is crazy!
Many of the vendors on Etsy take 2 months to finish the order.
Has anyone every made their own?? I honestly think that if I found an easy way to put our names on the big candle, I could decorate the rest with ribbon, etc.

Please help!

Hi!

I might be able to help you out / you can DIY

Just buy vellum (sp?) paper, rhinestones, and ribbon

measure the height of the candle and diameter and then print whatever you want on the label... lots of great templates if you do a Google search.

super glue it to the candle... there will be rough edges at the top and bottom - this is where the ribbon comes into play and hides all that for a smooth look.

Then if you're into bling - glue some rhinestones around it and tada!

for the two pillar candles do just the ribbon on top and bottom and super glue some rhinestones all around.

Hope this helps!

Re: Unity Candle - HELP!!

I bought my unity candle and tapers from Michaels. I made it myself with lace trim. The memorial candles I also made myself. Those I had a moving poem and names put on them. Its SUPER easy!

Buy the desired candle and a piece of vellum paper. You can also get this at Michaels but I wanted ivory so I had it ordered from a paper source in NYC. Anywho, set your printer to 'Transparency' when printing. A laser printer is best for this, but you can try an inkjet. Cut it to size, wrap it around and use your detail to hold it in place. I used lace but you can use ribbon. Its SUPER easy!

I did a plain unity candle without writing. Fit our theme better with the vintage lace. Lmk if I can be of any more help! No sense in spending a fortune on them!

Re: Unity Candle - HELP!!

Thanks so much for your help- I was hoping you wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction for templates. I'm just looking for our names, date, and maybe a fancy letter T (our last name). I Googled candle templates but most were very pricey, so I'm even hoping to find some free templates if that is possible.

Thanks :)
