DO UNity candles have to be white? Can they be cream/ivory? ALso - they should be nonscented right?
ALso - I saw another post about the song during the unity candle lighting - is this necessary?
Thanks.

Re: UNity Candle Questions
I don't believe there are any rules on unity candles, it is a non religious tradition. If you don't want a song you don't need one I believe the song is just usually something in the background. At my friends wedding we didn't even know they lit it, they did it right after the eucharist (they had a full mass).
Also my candles are cream

Re: UNity Candle Questions
There are NO specific rules to Unity Candles regarding color. FH and I are considering getting a set with our picture on them. We are having our soloist sing 'Make Me Whole', by Amel Lerreiux to get the 'Unity Feel', although a song is not necessary.

you can have whatever color you like. I'm not sure about the song though
