I'm sorry if this is a dumb question...but what exactly is the purpose of them? I've seen some pretty ones but I am not sure exactly what they are used for. Can you use them at a ceremony if you are getting married at your hall? Thanks ladies.

We're using a unity candle and we're getting married at our hall. The purpose of the unity candle is the same as the sand ceremony, etc. It's symbolizes the two(bride & groom - tapers) becoming one (unity candle). The union of two families.
