What was the hardest conversation that you had to have with your FIL's?

For me it was Saturday night. I had to tell my FFIL and FSMIL that I have an eye disease and it causes me to have problems seeing and all the fun things that go along with it. Just like I had anticipated as soon as they got home FSMIL googled it and found out the big stuff that I was hiding (the fact that I am technically going blind and that I will have to eventually have a cornea transplant). FH thankfully was the one who got questioned by his dad on those things Monday morning. If it wasn't for our trip to Germany with them in 2 weeks I think I would have held off longer telling them about it.

Oh man, that is difficult! Im so sorry to hear that about your eyes, but they had to find out either way, so now is as good a time as any I guess! Sounds like they handled it pretty well though, and they have no choice but to accept it, because its part of who you are! Also - I'm jealous about Germany!

I haven't had any real difficult conversations with them yet. FH's sister was going through a rough patch and dating an abusive idiot and we talked about him honestly, but everyone but her was of the same opinion, so it wasn't really hard.

So sorry you're going through this. You're blessed to have such a supportive FH and fils :)

The hardest conversation would be recently when my FMIL needed some tough love. FSIL recently started dating a total loser twice her age and making a lot of really poor choices. FMIL was being too gracious to her then bitching about it to us. Finally FH and I said enough is enough. Either get a grip and tell your daughter how you feel and deal with this or shut up about it. I have a very close relationship with her or I don't think I would have ever had the ballz to say anything like I said lol
