Unprofessional/dishonest vendors toward end of planning
Posted this on brides helping brides, but received a lot of responses from people having their weddings at least a year or two out - I had similar feelings as they did at that point too!
I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but so far, a lot of the LI vendors I have dealt with who were seemingly honest at the beginning have become really disrespectful and gone back on their word. Yes, I should get everything in writing, and yes, I should have expected people to be dishonest in the first place, etc., but I am just horrified by the level of unprofessionalism. I worked as an event planner for the first 4 years I was out of college, planning meetings across the country and in Canada, and have NEVER experienced anything like this. We also never had meetings on Long Island.
My experiences with NYC vendors have been fantastic - cut and dry, honest, spelled out and pleasant service. I really wish I had my wedding in the city and avoided LI altogether. Such a nightmare!
