I need some Pros and Cons to having hair Up or Down for the big day....
If I do my hair down it will be straight(and I have naturally curly hair) so If I get jiggy wit it,,which I will..I'll have a fro on the dancefloor by the end of the night..GUARANTEED. But when its down its so naturally beautiful.
I love it up because it adds some glamour yadda yadda yadda...Its out of my way....but it looks a little too done up!
So I need some pros and cons or your reasoning for doing you hair the way you did....TIA
I know after I do trials I'll know better..but until then I'm curious

Re: Up or Down?
I think I will go with up. My hair is thin and straight. I want to grow it out and put it up with lots of curls.

Up is so elegant. And it's not just up, like, back in the usual ponytail...it's UP! Classic, beautiful, off your face, no worries. I never even considered wearing mine down!

Re: Up or Down?
I have the same frizz issue as you. Also, when I am dancing, if my hair is down, I get very hot and want it off my neck. So I am going for up.

Re: Up or Down?
I don't want to have to worry at all about my hair, especially for outdoor pictures where wind may be a factor. Also, i asked Fh and he said he'd like it up, so that'll make him happy; and it does look so elegant and sophisticated and beautiful! (my hair is very thin and straight to, so kinda boring unless I made it look curly or something, but thats not very me, ya know?)
So... UP!

Re: Up or Down?
My hair is naturally curly as well, and I stopped straightening it so it can regain strength. However the day of I'm wearing it up, so I won't have the fro problem. I think you have a beautiful face, and you should wear it up, but not pulled too tight. You feelin me?

Re: Up or Down?
im doing it up b/c my hair is very straight and wont hold curls down for long and frizzes, when my hairs down too longi get annoyed, i dont want to worry about it so i want it up, i feel it will be more elegant anyway...plus if it was down by the end of the night it would look horrible

I was thinking about putting mine half up and half down but as im thinking about it- mid july wedding and a big poofy dress will make me sweat as hell so now im also considering it up- i think though I will have two trials to see which I like better

Re: Up or Down?
Definately UP!!
I agree with all you ladies ... you dont want your hair in the way while taking pictures, and up makes it so much more elegant and classy.
I also have curly hair .. so I know what it's like to have frizzy hair when your hot, and little curls developing when its raining!!!

i loveeee half up and half down ... but i think that all up is a little bit more elegent ... although ... half up/half down is the style nowadays for brides ...

I'm still undecided. Either 1/2 up or all up.

Re: Up or Down?
I did half up half down...very natural looking... I didn't want 'fake curls'...most hairstylist especially those that claim to be 'wedding day hairstylist' feel the need to make your curls look very fake. Take for instance that girl who posted 3 different trials she went on...OMG...What a difference until she found the right person who actually knew what they were doing!
Anyway...what was the question...
Ok...why I chose half up half down. I ALWAYS wear my hair curly. One time I chose to have it straightened my family looked at me like I murdered someone. So...it's just me to have curls...on my wedding day it would have been unnatural to be any other way. So...wearing it all down just would have been too much...too casual. Wearing it all up wouldn't really show the curl. The decision came to half up half down. Plus my Mom always loved my hair like that and it was a little something I wanted to do in my heart for her too.
But...I danced my butt off all night...granted I did NOT get married in the summer, but it was a very warm fall day and there was NO frizz... If your hair is styled properly and you want curls..do it. I'm sure you've seen enough of my pics...no need to post...hehehehe....

Re: Up or Down?
I think i am in the minority on this one....I am planning on wearing my hair mostly down with some of pulled back. I have long straight hair, but just can't see myself having it in an updo. I want to look like myself that day. I plan on having it curled which I am sure won't hold all day, but it will stay wavy at least.
I am going to have a couple of hair trials though so who knows what will happen

Re: Up or Down?
Up, it's a classic look, PLUS if you're gonna dance all night, you're gonna get hot and the last thing you want is to put your hair in a scrungie!!! (sp??)
